Abstract

Aim: To describe the prevalence of cardiovascular risk behaviors in people aged between 30 and 40 years of the Sabugo, Corvera, Pravia and Castrillón basic health zones of Asturias.

Method: Cross-sectional study. The target population was subjects aged 30 and 40 years, whose basic health area is Sabugo, Corvera, Pravia and Castrillón. The information was collected through a digital form composed by sociodemographic, alcohol and tobacco consumption variables and the IPAQ and Motiva.Diaf questionnaires.

Results: 436 participants, 59.4% women (n=259) and 39.6% men (n=177). No differences were observed between the basic health zones. High alcohol intake (p<0,001) and greater level of physical activity (p<0,001) was observed in men. Low educational level has significant association to tobacco (p<0,004), lower level of physical activity (p=0,013) and unhealthy lifestyle (p=0,010). Finally, people who live alone performed a higher level of physical activity (p=0,029).

Conclusion: The prevalence of cardiovascular risk behaviors was similar between the basic health zones studied. However, significant differences were observed in relation to sex, educational level and type of coexistence.
